Kyton made it to Hollywood!

We had a big California vacation about 2.5 years ago, so we had already hit most of the major attractions at that time.  The Hollywood Bowl was one unseen destination.

On the literature they advertise bringing a lunch and enjoying a picnic.  I’m not really sure what they had in mind, but we sat in a box and ate in the empty bowl.  Kyton had a great time running around, and we took turns chasing him.

We could not miss the iconic Chinese Theater!

Or the walk of fame.  Where else can you take a picture with a creepy guy in the background looking at your child?

We ended the day at the Observatory where we had a great view of the famous sign.

Beach Mountain Climbing

After camping in Malibu we did a bit of mini mountain climbing,  After spending so much time in Florida I am always amazed at the California coast line.

This is the campground that we stayed at… Pretty amazing!

Can you see the path along the top of all the peaks?  We went to the far peak.

New Job

After about a year and a half of being a “stay at home dad”/ freelance actor/ freelance musician, Dylan has landed his dream job.  He is now a full time actor at a local theme park.  He loves it and has even been on international television already.
Our transition was a bit difficult at first.  We were trying to get back to eastern time after an 11 day vacation in California.  We took the red eye Sunday night & I went to work Monday.  Wednesday Dylan went in for his first day of work.  For the first week Kyton was still on California time, which means that we would hang out from 4PM until 1:30 AM!! It was a bit of a difficult transition at first

Kyton is going to my friend’s mom’s house who watches kids.   He had been there a few times in the past when Dylan had gigs, appointments, or auditions.  Due to our schedules he is only there 26 hours a week, and he gets a 3 day parent weekend. It has really been great for Kyton since she has a few other boys that are about his age.   At this point in time he needs experience of being around other kids. He is such a social kid, and I think he sort of goes crazy being around the house all day long.   Apparently he loves to entertain the other kids, and does little acts for them. In the morning he runs in the door and yells “ Bye daddy” as he grabs toys and gets to work.  When I go to get him he’s happy and tells me about how much fun he had. He has learned so many new words since he has more social opportunities.

I’m really looking forward to my summer when I get to spend 2 months with my boy!  Stay tuned for pictures of Dylan’s new look !Winking smile

Sleeping on the Beach in Malibu

While in California we went camping in Malibu.  During the day Dylan and I had a rare day to ourselves where we saw a taping of the Tonight Show.  Kyton went with my sisters to the Aquarium of the Pacific.  They said that he had so much fun that he did not even seem to care that his parents were not with him.  We were happy that he did so well and had fun.

While Dylan, Kyton and I slept in the huge red tent in the background, Sharon and Jess slept in the white tent below.  When we woke up in the morning, we could not find my sister Rebecca.  After a bit of searching, we found her here.  My pregnant sister slept in a mummy bag just feet away from the pacific ocean under the stars.

I love this pose!  Kyton once again did not want to wear shoes, but I think he looks like  a mountain man.

He loved running to the street, playing in the sand, eating rocks and climbing around.

Apparently Malibu is where a lot of celebrities live, but we did not see any… that we know of.
