He’s a monkey–and climbed out of his bed!

A few months back Kyton was in his crib, and I heard a thump.  As I ran to Kyton’s room I was met at the door by my boy. We considered a variety of ways to keep him in his bed, but in the end decided it was not worth the risk of him getting hurt.  For about a day I put his mattress on the floor and he slept that way until Dylan had a chance to convert his crib to a toddler bed.  We also had to order a special rail for his bed.

He loves the novelty of being able to get in and out of his bed, but he has not been a great sleeper recently. I don’t think that the bed change has made much of a difference in this. My theory is that our bed is so much more comfy than his. We made sure to purchase a thick mattress as we were advised before he was born. We both prefer a super soft mattress. He sleeps great on the guest bed, so our next move may be switching out the crib for the guest bed.

He loves climbing anywhere he can, on the table, on the playground and Dylan’s desk.
