I Heart Faces: Barefoot week

We were on Georgia’s Emerald coast and northern Florida for a weekend away.  I absolutely love seeing new beautiful places and spending time away from life with my husband.  I have many more pictures to share throughout week.   We were extremely blessed this weekend that although rain was in the forecast everyday, we did not have to change our plans once due to weather. It rained only when we were in the car, or we were inside. 
The theme this week is bare-feet.  As I was looking around, and trying to think of a picture for theme, I saw SO many bare feet.  We stopped at a grocery store in an unfamiliar town and saw a man walking out of the store minus shoes. I saw a fisherman scaling a rocky wall barefoot.  As Dylan and I were walking along the smooth sand of the beach, he held my sandals so I could snap this picture.

What are they thinking?

After visiting animal kingdom with my class I gave my students a writing assignment.  One student wrote of how he would rescue the monkeys from their captivity.  It made me think a little about how bored the must be.  I get antsy when I am at home for too long, and I choose my home.  

The same student looked at a picture of a monkey today and informed me that it looked just like his father.  He explained in detail how his dad has the same smile, and has similar body hair.    

I laughed and suggested that he NOT share that with his dad.

Dancing in the Villages

I was going through old pictures and found a few that I had forgotten about from about a month ago.  One of my friend’s parents live in the retirement city The Villages. 

 

I’ve never seen so many golf carts in one place… that was not a golf course.

The have music every since night!

  

The DJ was great.  He had a dance for every song he played.

All of the residents knew the moves…. we had to learn. 

 

I’ve never seen so many senior in one place… ever.

It was not at all what I expected, and worth the trip. 

After visiting, I wanted to be old.

I Heart Faces: Yellow

I had this great idea for the yellow theme, and of course it involved Dylan (my husband.)  The idea was for Dylan to frolic on the beach at sunset wearing yellow.  He would end up in the water and splash around.    Dylan is great, and will do just about anything, but he was not excited about my idea.  He said that men don’t frolic, or splash by themselves.  We compromised and did a beach-workout photo shoot. Check out the complete shoot. 

I really like this photo because of the beautiful lighting and the candid look on Dylan’s face.

Beach Workout

The idea for this photo shoot came from the i heart faces yellow theme. 
I choose a candid for my actual entry and the story of the evolution of the photo shoot. 
 
I absolutely love soft, warm sunset light.

I love watching carefree children play in the sand. 

I love when the light is at just the right position on the horizon to create amazing colors. 
  
  
 
          
As Dylan was taking these pictures a few scrawny 14ish year old boys remarked to each other “That guy is doing Yoga on the beach.” 
Dylan replied ”It’s called a push-up.  You should try it sometime.”
 
I’ll admit that most of my images today are very processed, but the image below to the right is straight out of the camera. 

 
The picture below is a 1 handed push-up.  (um…I can’t even do a 2 handed pushup.)
