Unexpected Beauty

We were lured to Brunswick, Georgia by am image that looked something like this…
It was very pretty, but not the bustling town that we expected.
Sometimes it is nice to be the only tourist in an area.
We recently watched Forrest Gump. (Great Movie!)  Based on the movie, I think that these are shrimpin’ boats.
We also saw a container of shrimp sitting on the dock. (another clue)
If we were not on vacation I would have made a few purchases at the farmer’s market.

Honestly when we arrived we were a little disappointed that the city  was not busier, but in the end we enjoyed the tranquility of small town life.

Terrific captures, Carly! But I know what you mean about being disappointed and yet it's nice to be able to enjoy a place without the crowds! Hope your week is going well! Enjoy!

It is indeed sometimes nice to be the only tourist around. The tower on that first building is interesting, at least.

So tranquil! I live in a small resort village after spending 8 years in Winter Park, my son went to Lake Highland Prep, and then 4 in Dallas. It is tough to wind down to such "small-ness" after city life. My goal is to enjoy, but get back to WP as soon as possible (or south of the Mason Dixon.)

It's quite unusual to have prawns served in shells and heads in USA. But in a Chinese restaurant. Yes. Where did you get the bowl?

Thanks so much for your kind comments.
Ann, we found the bowl sitting on the dock just how it is in the picture. I think that a fisherman set it there and forgot about it.
