After visiting animal kingdom with my class I gave my students a writing assignment. One student wrote of how he would rescue the monkeys from their captivity. It made me think a little about how bored the must be. I get antsy when I am at home for too long, and I choose my home.
The same student looked at a picture of a monkey today and informed me that it looked just like his father. He explained in detail how his dad has the same smile, and has similar body hair.
I laughed and suggested that he NOT share that with his dad.

Those are two beautifully expressive shots of this monkey. All the man made swings and toys in the world cannot replace freedom. It is sad.

I agree zoo's are a tough call for me. It is well worth seeing these animals in their natural habitat! The picture is really nice though!
