18 of the most important tests, all in a week

I normally don't talk too much about work on here, but this week was huge for me. The 18 tests were administered this week, each one grading me! My ability as a teacher, my professionalism, and a grade for the school. The worst part, I could not make one mark on any of the 18 tests! My students had their Fc@t this week, which is a standardized test. I was never a great test taker as a student and I'm pretty sure that I had the nerves of all 18 students. This has been a surprisingly exhausting week, even though all I do is read the scripts and walk the room for the longest hour... then do it all over again. I dislike that through all of their (and my) hard work, all that matters is one LONG test. I even read an article this week about how testing is NOT the answer. There are so many more accurate methods of measuring learning and assessing student knowledge.

I bet you're glad to see the end of such a stressful week. The pic is perfect, I've felt like that more than a few times myself!

I love looking at your photographs! And I love this post. I hate taking tests and I hate giving them. I heard a great analogy recently...if you have a great factory, with the latest equipment and best trained workers, but defective raw materials that make the product defective, do you blame the workers? Same with schools. We can only do so much with the raw materials we're given.
