Beauty in Ruin

My pictures today show an area that  really showed age, but was beautiful at the same time.

According to the signs that was an area wetland of restoration.
I think that means they have stopped fixing things.

Love that iron gate pic.

I do hope the restoration of that area comes about. It's a shame to lose the tremendous value to wild life.

And hello from Gainesville! I was born and raised in Orlando. Can't say that I miss it though!! ;) I'm liking the slower paced life much better!

The cast iron trim offers a complex yet delicate view in sepia. This metal trim is nice in monochrome. As for the restoration of the wetlands, perhaps nothing might need to be done by man - it should return to nature all by itself...

The wetlands looks really serene. Love the reflection in the water.

I rather like decay, especially in natural materials like wood, but it's a pity that the wetlands no longer seem to be managed.
