The Effects of Florida's Frost

My pictures today are from our yard and a recent biking trip.  I insisted I wanted to take along my big camera despite the risk of damage while on our recent biking trip.  After about 10 minutes and the images that you see below, I realized all the grass is dead and stopped shooting.

I also discovered that there are 'hills' in central Florida.
If you want the truth, I made this b&w to disguize the bright green port-a-potty in the picture.
Did it work?

B&W is fantastic. Love the long & winding road.

The earthy colour of the grasses is so cool too.

Happy SSS...

I never knew much about the hills in Florida - I assumed tat it was a myth. I now have to reassess my thinking about that...I don't think of cold and the Sunshine State, but any freeze makes costlier our favorite citrus like orange juice, grapefruit and lime. We hope the normal sub=tropical winds to envelop you and your state!

Great shots, the scenic sunday shot, reminds me of California.

The monochrome beautifully disguises the "unscenic" structure! Love the inviting winding pathway up the hillside! Even though the grasses like like hay it is a scenic gold in the second photo! And an intriguing tangle of shadows from the tree!

The B&W worked..didn't realize it was a port-a-potty. ha ha

Interesting shadows from the tree. The grass may look like hay. but it makes for a pretty photo.

Happy weekend!

Nice shots. The b&w worked great...didn't notice the p-o-p until after you mentioned it. Our freeze wasn't quite as harsh as yours but we do have some dead grass around some neighborhoods.

I didn't notice the potty until you mentioned it so ya, it worked lol!

Wonderful shots... and yes, you were successful in hiding the potty.

I would not have noticed the port-a-potty if you hadn't mentioned it...so, I guess that is a "yes." The black and white worked very well! The tree shadow is perfect! You got the whole tree.

I never realize that Florida would be hit with so much froze. Good news that oranges made it.

Your pictures turned out so very well despite the frost damage. I didn't even notice the outhouse until you mentioned it, so I think b&w was a perfect choice.
I love the shot of the oranges! Oh how I would love to live in a place where I could grow an orange tree in my back yard!

The b&w was perfect for hiding that little blemish. I really had to search it out. Hope you warm up quickly. ~ Calico Contemplations

It worked Carly. I never noticed the port-a-potty. When I lived in PA I thought NJ was flat. I don't think so now. Don't believe me? Ride a bike in my So. Jersey neighborhood.

hey there, thanks for checking out my blog. I heard the frost did some bad stuff in FL for the wildlife. no good. Nice photos though - despite the grass being dead, it's a really pretty shot! And the black and white did help with the port o potty - never would have realized that's what it was :)
