Staying warm and Miami Skies

I think that today will be the last in the series of photos that I post from Miami. The pic of the cat was from my parent's house last April.  I don't know about you, but I am looking forward to a weekend full of Christmas Parties.

And for something new.... outmavarin is hosting a weekly assignment
Here's the question: #295: Even in Tucson, things can get a bit chilly on December nights. What is your favorite way to keep warm?

Here is my favorite way to keep warm, cuddle with the hubby under our 2 down comforters and a thermal blanket.  My parents were visiting last week and on the same night we slept under our 2 comforters (no thermal blanket that night.)  They pushed the quilt off of the bed they were sleeping in and used only a sheet.

And for the extra credit question: What is the temperature setting on your thermostat?
Here is a pic of our thermostat this evening (9PM) There is a slight breeze coming through the screen door and for me this is about perfect.  I like it anywhere between 78 and 80.  I beg my husband to turn on the heat when it gets below 75, but I usually can tough it out to 70.  In the 5 years I've lived in Florida we've turned on the heat 3 times.

Photo Friday
The theme is homemade:  here is a picture taken last Christmas at my parent's annual cookie baking day.  This is only a very small portion of the results.

The beautiful Miami skyline is set under the oceanic and tropical sky. The Atlantic sets up clouds that are large and gray, making the often sunny to monstrous clouds . In a flash. As for the feline, a beautiful cat allows you to take his picture - good looking, and knows it, the calm critter looking just so regal...

Heh. I LOVE that shot of the bed! Wow, 79. That's where I usually want to turn on the A/C!

Thanks for playing along with the Weekend Assignment!

Love the skyline photo set. The second photo almost looks like an animated movie background. Very well done...as always.

Carly, really cool photos on so many subjects! Can't imagine you ever have to turn on the heat in Florida! Although I did spend a chilly week in Orlando once! Where is that Holocaust museum? I know there are a few around the country...

Carley, you have some fantastic sky photos. But I have to tell you I am in love with the cover photo you use for your blog. The reflection of the sailboats on the water is stunning. Beautiful capture!

I like the first reflection photo Carly. I think the horizontal composition works best with the columns. Nice work.

Nice photos, I especially like the reflections and the kitty. In the summer we set our thermostat to 80 degrees and in the winter, 68.

I love those first photos. The colors are beautiful. Is that the way the picture came out or something that you do in photoshop? I need a camera like that if the colors are so clear and beautiful like that every time. LOL... and a little photography skill.

Carly,

I came for your weekend reflection and stayed a while! I enjoyed your reflections taken outside the Holocaust Museum ~ the twisted roots of the trees are interestingly set between the columns and make for a nice reflection.

I also enjoyed the sky photos. I've only ever been to Miami a few times (grew up in gulf coast Sarasota) and the beauty that you captured with the skyline is a far cry more beautiful than I recall the city to be! Nice perspective.
