Chickens in the road

All of my pictures today were taken on Grand Cayman Island.  I have plenty more from Grand Cayman, so stop back all this week.

Taken from a boat as we were going on a little side trip.

On the main drag in Georgetown, shopping on one side of the road, this on the other.  The snorkeling here is great!

One thing that surprised me was that there were chickens running all around town.  Apparent,y they are wild, and people don't eat them.  I guess a few months ago  a hen had babies and they were too close to the road, and apparently things didn't go so well.

Here's a picture of my husband walking down the road in Georgetown, in the middle of town...
Here is a random story:  When I was a kid we had chickens as pets.  In my first grade class we hatched eggs and raised chickens.  When the experiment was over my mom let us keep a few chickens.  They were named Lovey and Dovey.  We dressed them in doll clothes and carried them everywhere.  My parents have a few pictures with my sister swinging  with the chicken.    They lived in the house till my parents decided they needed to go outside and I was very upset that my parents would make my chickens sleep outside as I was afraid they would freeze. We put plenty of blankets in the house that my dad built for them, and to my surprise they survived the harsh Ohio winters.

I love the blue water and the blue house that is awesome take. The chicken story makes me missed my Ester (my chicken pet) our neighbors dog massacred our chicken coop and my Ester is one of them. First time I cried for a chicken well she is my pet though and I missed her -sniff-sniff-

Nice sky in your mono photo. The island silhouette looks pretty skinny to me. Hate to get stranded on that one.

Grand Cayman is beautiful. The tropical sun leaves nice shadows of everything (chicken??) and everyone. The sreetscape looks inviting by the awning that protects us from the sun when needed. All beautiful pictures, the Caribbean of azure waters is a fine place to visit...

Looks like a wonderful place. Your photos remind me of Bermuda, which is not in the Caribbean.
