I'll be back in 2010

I was very very busy for Christmas and the New Year and found that I was not near consistent internet connections.  Honestly with all of the family and friends around I enjoyed spending the little time I had with them.
Don't worry I've been taking TONS of pictures!
I can't add any pictures today, but check back tomorrow because I'll be posting my December Scavenger Hunt Results.
I hope that you and your family had a wonderful Christmas and have a fun and safe New Year tonight!

Last day of school for the year!!!

Tomorrow will be my last day of school for 2009.  I will admit that although I have a wonderful class this year, I am excited to have a little bit of time off.  The fireworks below seemed appropriate for how I'll feel tomorrow at 4:00 PM.
As in the rest of the pictures this week, these are from Disney.

Photo Friday
The theme this week is the best photo of the year.  After thinking about this I have decided that my personal favorite is the photo that I have as my blog headder.  I guess it makes sense that I'd show my favorite to all of my readers.  I've been loooking at photo Friday, and there are some really neat photos!

Train Lights

I set the camera on a post and set the shutter to be open for 2 seconds just as the train was heading my way.

Cheaper Than Therapy

I was a little bored with my Thursday post, so I snooped around on Ford Family Photos to find another meme.  If you think that I post a lot of photos, you should check out her blog.  She seems to always have new and interesting photos that are perfectly composed. So here it is....

The theme is toys, dolls and cars.  Here are pictures of a train display in the beach club near Epcot.

It's the most wonderful time of the year...

I combined a bunch of memes all into 1 blog post because things have been busy around here.  The good kind of fun Christmas busy, not the bad stressful type.  I have a neat story about a Christmas gift we were given that I may blog in the next week.

On an unrelated note, I think I've finally figured out a good way to easily and with little time include many pictures in my blog... not sure how my readers will feel about that.

All of the pictures below are from the Disney resorts or Epcot.

For My world Tuesday I have pictures from the Grand Floridian.  It is the nicest of the resports  at Disney World.  They have a lifesized gingerbread house up for Christmas.  I saw a video online (after the pictures) and had to see the house!  They actually have workers in the house that sell gingerbread cookies and other baked goods.

Here is the video if you are interested:

Can you find the Hidden Mouse?

As we were looking at the displays one of the games was to find the hidden Mickey logo.  If you have not noticed throughout the park the staff create hidden Mickeys in rides and in displays.  I don't know about you, but I love Where's Waldo as a kid, and enjoy this life-sized version.  See if you can find the images in my pictures.

Mellow Yellow Monday
Can you see the hidden mickey in this picture?  We had a blast searching for every last mouse logo.  This is the side of the display, and yes, everything is edible.  You can see the side of Stitch, the chef.

Blue Monday

Can you see another hidden Mickey?  Rumor is that after the creation of the displays, the chefs invited children to stamp the Mickey in discrete locations. This entire horse was made of chocolate.

Of course our day ended with fireworks!

I Heart Faces - Pets

Obviously this is not really my pet, but it is an animal.  After a bit of a close call, in the past 2 months it seems that everywhere I go I see alligators.   This photo was taken a a few months back, but remains one of my favorites.  I have come to appreciate the beauty in these creatures.

Still feels like Summer.... not Christmas!

I am not really enjoying the weather this fall.  We have had about 5 cool days.  Today was a high of around 83 and perfectly sunny and 'beautiful.'  I don't want sunny and beautiful, I want cold and 'Christmas-y.'   I had planned to wait till the week before Christmas to post Christmas pictures, but I was tired of looking at tropical cruise pictures. If you want to see the rest of the cruise come back in January because the rest of December is going to be Christmas!!

All of the pictures today were taken in the Disney Hotels or in Epcot.

This is the recipe for the chocolate carousel.  The recipe is written in chocolate.

The shadows entering Soarin in Epcot.  As you can see there was no wait :-)  The joys of visiting in the off-season.

Everything that you see is made of candy or chocolate and edible.  The smell of chocolate permeated the room. Don't worry in traditional Disney marketing they also sold goodies to eat.
