What beach is that?

I have a few more pictures from the same park as yesterday.  Check out my Blue Monday post...  Any idea of what city the beach is in?   (Extra credit if you know the exact beach name.)   Leave a comment with your guess and check back tomorrow for the answer.

I Heart Faces - Week 47

Here is my entry for “We ♥ Tooshies” in the I Heart Faces contest this week.

I was not planning on entering this week because I was not sure exactly what they were looking for, but after reading the getting ready post, I decided to enter.   This is my hubby Dylan trying out a new look for a mini photo shoot.  Click on the image below to see other posts.

Sunday in the city park

All of my pictures today are from a beautiful park that is located in the middle of a busy city.  It includes art, beautiful flowers and was even the location for a wedding the day we visited.  The best part is that the park is free, well except for parking.  More on the location in my Monday post...

Black Friday or Good Friday

I know that this is a really random thought, but I think that this should be called good Friday and the day before passover should be called black Friday.  I think that Jesus' death was probably a black day, and we wear black to funerals.  Can you imagine how Jesus' followers felt the day Jesus was killed? I imagine they were not feeling good.  It would almost seem more appropriate to call a day after family celebrations, and a day of great sales 'Good Friday.'   Just a thought...

Happy Thanksgiving

I was thinking back to last year's Thanksgiving Day.  We spent the week in New Orleans, and the city was basically closed for the day.  We hiked around our campground in the morning, then drove around the famous 9th ward.  This was the area hardest hit by hurricane Katrina.  We were amazed at how 3 years later the area was a ghost town.  we drove down dilapidated street after street of stairs to nowhere.  There were even houses that are clearly unlivable that were still partially standing.   It was a very strange ghost town. Talk about feeling thankful for what I have!!!

I know that this seems strange, but after our drive we went to a casino for Thanksgiving dinner.  We called around to many places and few were open, and the casino has quite the selection ranging from the traditional Thanksgiving food, to Cajun dishes.  As you can see from the pictures my husband ate way too much.

I hope that you have a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!

More New Orleans

More pictures from New Orleans.
Wordless Wednesday

I really enjoy art museums and often bring the hubby along, and he is great about pretending to be interested. (Even though I know that he lost interest about 2 minutes after we walked in the museum.)  I think that picture shows his true feeling about most art.

 WateryOutdoor  Wednesday

The bridge that leads to the city.  We took a ferry and walked the city.  My husband's phone said that we walked 20,000 steps one day.

Crystal River Myth

Today's My World Tuesday is from Crystal River, Florida. Let me be honest with you and dispel a myth... the river is not crystal clear at all. In-fact, it is so murky that you can't see your hand in-front of your face. Crystal river is one of the few places that you can actually touch manatees. In all other places in the United States it is against the law to touch or approach a manatee. I guess that someone decided they would make $$ if they changed the rules in this town. We got up really early and drove to the dock, paid our money and boarded a boat. The captain saw a manatee.... so he said and we stopped the boat in the middle of nowhere and looked for manatees. No one saw one. We all told the captain that we needed to look in another spot, so he took us to a location with about 12 other boats. I guess that there were manatees right there, but as I said before the water was so murky that it is impossible to tell. I usually can see the bright side of things, but on this day I was disappointed and felt like we wasted our time. Here are pics of the day.

Ruby Tuesday
A crazy picture from our Halloween Party.  Can you believe that Halloween was almost a month ago?  It feels as though this month is flying by!!  If you are wondering, she is the Syd's sister's doll from the movie toy story.

Memories of Mondays Past

Last year my husband and I spent the week of Thanksgiving in New Orleans.  This was before my days of blogging and before the dslr in the days of point and shoot.  I had some great shots, so I decided to dedicate this week to sharing those pictures.

Mellow Yellow Monday
This is definitely not award winning photography, in fact I am sure that many cell phone pictures are better, but  check out the price of gas last year at this time.

I Heart Faces - Sun Flare

I absolutely love this picture! I love the contests on I heart faces because they allow me to try things I would not otherwise. I finally convinced my hubby to come home from work early so that we could capture the setting sun in a field that I drive by every day going to and from work. I really like the colors of the picture and his goofy expression.
